Ode to Panettone

Raisin bread,
seasonal,
or, rather, brioche
Light and fluffy
with a bitter brown crust.
Inside, diced orange peel,
scattered and candied-
or should I say, petrified?
Why do paesani
like you so much?
You give me agita,
literally.
Whether I eat you here-
or in Italy.
